About us

Matriarc Metalworks & Design works in collaboration with you, the client.

How will the space be used? How does the style fit into what is already there? What is the flow? These are the questions that will help us see your vision along with the constraints.

No two project are the same. In partnering with us the results are the product of cross-disciplinary pollination, an intimate understanding of the client’s vision and hard work.

Our process:

  1. Walk though the space with the client

  2. Receive a proposal from us with professional renderings, ideas/pictures, pricing, possible start date & estimated number of days on-site

  3. On the start date we arrive with everything we need. You can watch the magic unfold on your property!

Amanda.

Matriarc is Amanda’s second entrepreneurial effort, having already built one of the best cleaning companies in Austin, The Purple Fig Eco Cleaning Company.  Amanda loves to create and build and has a laser focus on customer service.  This combined with her degree in accounting is a great mix for a business.

As a founding member of Good Work Austin, her business ethics have paved the way for others in offering fair and living wage, useable healthcare for her employees as well as benefits such as paid sick leave and 401k.

A local Austinite– born here, raised abroad and then back for college and beyond. I’m passionate about all-things-eco-friendly, yoga, running, healthy eating, etc. I also firmly believe that a cup of jasmine tea makes everything better.

I love working hard to make sure our clients received the best service possible and I love the process of continuous improvement.

Matt.

Matt moved to Austin in 1997 to work as an electrical engineer and has made Austin his home.

In his spare time he built his first custom home out in the country on 5 acres.  As his family grew, he moved into the city to the Brentwood neighborhood and build another custom home.  Though he swore he would never do it again, he continued building projects – a few of which won awards for their design and creativity and called for him to change the path of his journey.

He brings his previous life’s skills as a detailed and meticulous project planner & problem solver to Matriarc Design.  His hands-on approach to building means he spends a lot of time on-site, both making sure all details are accounted for as well as rolling up his sleeves to make sure the projects done on time and within budget.

In the evenings Matt can be found listening to music, standing by the fire enjoying a small batch whisky or wrestling with his two boys, Max and River.
